A FOOTBALL ICON
The Umbro brand originated in the early 1900s bringing quality football products to an international market. Their first major win came in 1934 when Manchester City wore the Umbro designed kit to the FA Cup victory. Headquartered in Manchester, England and now owned by Nike, the global football brand maintains an esteemed and dedicated following and is considered one of the most revered football brands in the world.

LAUNCHING A GLOBAL HUB
Working with Anomaly, Rokkan launched Umbro.com, the global, multi-lingual football website in the fall of 2009. In addition to showcasing brand and product the site was built to function like a magazine/content destination housing articles related to football, music, art and fashion. Umbro is a brand very close to its fans and heritage and is constantly connected to current trends, news and culture. The site purposefully presents brand and product wrapped around stories of artists, musicians and players.

In addition Umbro.com curates content from around the web. Popular videos from YouTube, photos from Flickr, and content from the Umbro Blog fill modules on the site’s homepage. Content is regularly updated to showcase the latest that’s happening around the community.

A GLOBAL CMS PLATFORM
Currently in development, Rokkan is creating the CMS platform to help Umbro manage its website globally across over 38 local markets and 15 languages. The CMS will allow Umbro global and Umbro local markets to manage unique and more relevant versions of Umbro.com. Local versions of Umbro.com will vary in promotions, articles, and even product catalogs. The CMS solution is built from Rokkan’s Rokkit solution, a custom-built version of Zend Framework.
